FAIRPLAY PLEASE

FRO has been such a filthy office that needs a tough cleansing process. The ADM has finally started working in that direction. We must appreciate what she’s doing and encourage her to do more. We understand that she has inherited problems and a bunch of criminals from her predecessors.

We have so far seen 2 major steps: Suspension of some staff members due to undisclosed reasons and the acknowledgment of hiring malpractices which have caused stress to many ambitious and hard working staff and caused many others to abstain from participating in any competition.

FROnt blog team has noted some partiality and unfairness in this cleansing process and would like to put it as simply as possible in the form of a question:

“Why should some be suspended right away while others are given a chance to improve and correct their mistakes by sending them to refresher training?”

We are faced here with 2 different actions: A disciplinary action versus a corrective action. Who deserve what? Why these and not those? Are those suspended worse than those responsible for hiring malpractices? We don’t know the real reasons behind the suspension but hiring friends and relatives and playing with government budget is certainly a major breach.

Let’s hope that the ADM studies carefully case by case and act fairly. We sure want a clean FRO but we also want a just process.

  1. Yes, we want a just process....but I think the ADM will be selective and many innocent people will be targeted. I don't trust this system.

  2. It’s risky to work at FRO without being management’s friend, relative or a** kisser.

Nobody at FRO is really qualified to investigate issues or order suspension.

The acknowledgment of hiring malpractices is certainly a black eye to those managers who have hired their friends and family and to the Executive who provided cover up. I’m not gonna mention their names because I don’t want the moderator to reject my posting, but what’s the point anyways. Everybody knows who I’m talking about, including the security guards downstairs.

These managers and Directors have been in breach of the government policy for so long and they should be punished.

Refresher training??????????? Give me a break!

  4. Where is the Union in all this? Too much shit is going on. We need the Local President to step in.

  5. I’ve heard the suspended folks got 20 days extension. This, if true, means 20 more days of stress and anxiety for them and their families. This is a major issue that the ADM should have addressed in the Town Hall meeting instead of wasting hours talking about stupid strategic plans and “Ask Lois" program.
Putting these guys on hold is inhuman. What the heck did they do to deserve this treatment? Without naming any of them out of respect of their privacy, they’re all really nice and hard working colleagues.

What about those who literally spent millions of tax payers dollars on a fictitious system? What about those who hire their (girl) friends and relatives? What about those who spend hours chatting or eating out while stressed clients can’t get hold of a manager to solve their support problems?

I don’t know whether these suspended members are 3 or 6 or more… Too many rumors around. I guess nobody knows who’s on vacation and who’s been suspended, but remember there was also another female agent from the 6th floor who was suspended for months and now it looks like she’s been dismissed. I bet we’ll see more of this systematic targeting of poor agents in order to hide the real issues which have made FRO hell for agents and clients alike.

I agree that the Union must step in. The elected Union Executive must call for an urgent meeting to discuss this FRO attitude and its consequences on members. This is about a planned mass suspension and it is causing unnecessary family issues.

  6. We might need new elections if the Local President doesn't step in.

  7. News about 2 staff members being dismissed. The allegation sounds like the same as for those suspended: Conflict of Interest. I know these two dismissed colleagues. Both are known for not taking any shit from management. One of them had quite a few bad fights with his manager recently and I heard they did not talk for quite a few months.
The dismissed guy from the 4th floor is known for standing up with colleagues against management. So to me, this could be a set up and a way to intimidate others in the same line.

  8. Conflict of Interest or other stuff, this sounds so dirty to me. There has always been an management attitude at FRO to get rid of those who don't agree with them.
I wish the suspended-dismissed members could drop a line or 2 to let us know what the hell happened to them and see if we can help. They don't need to disclose their names.
By the way, does Conflict of Interest have to do with running personal business or something to that effect?

  9. This site (FRO BLOG) - lacks integrity and value.

Does not serve any constructive purpose other than to those who create/moderate a false sense of purpose/heroism.

As to those dicipline I am sure there is good reason. Nothing is done in secrecy. Those individulas involved would be advised accordingly. If they say they haven't they are lying.

  10. Where is the Union to defend the workers? It time for the Union to step up to the plate and do there job.

  11. Nothing is done in secrecy!!!! Are kidding? nobody knows what's in the management mind. They are worse than the Nazis.

  12. If you pay union dues "u" are the union! Step up to the plate if you think you know the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Seems to me FRO is as usless as the union president, and some loud mouth stewards who backstab members. Knows your collective agreement and fight for your rights only a handful can or will help you. Don't believe the hype and stay away from the flip side of the coin.
